Environmental Management

We provide creative environmental services and solutions, leading edge analysis and proven value for our clients with respect to their immediate concerns and project particulars, as well as promoting a higher understanding of environmental knowledge and sustainability

Environmental management is inherently a spatial. Furthermore, its related data (environmental data) are particularly complex and they require two descriptors; namely the precise location of what is being described, as well as a clear description of its physical characteristics. At INTEGEMS, we take into account the complexity of the environment, environmental data and the processes at multiple scales that influence it. In this framework the spatial component becomes a priority and environmental management, monitoring and research become highly compatible with GIS.

We take advantage of GIS, remote sensing, spatial analysis and software development technologies to support a variety of environmental management efforts, including impact assessment, biophysical characterisation and monitoring, urban planning, natural resources mapping, suitability modelling, conservation, data management, cartographic and visual aids production.

Our consulting services include:

  • Environment and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA), including Resettlement Action Planning
  • Biodiversity, Soil, Water, Noise and Air Quality Monitoring
  • Environmental Compliance Assistance, Auditing and Environmental Management System Implementation
  • Environmental Management Information Systems
  • Greenhouse Gas Emissions Inventory & Data Reporting, Management Plans and Verification
  • Climate Change (Mitigation and Adaptation) and Energy
  • Environmental Health & Safety

We work very closely with clients and communities to solve the most complex environemntal challenges in accordance with the following international and national principles, standards and guidelines:

  • IFC Performance Standards
  • Equator Principles
  • World Bank Group Environmental and Social Standards
  • World Bank Group Environmental, Health and Safety Guidelines
  • WHO Standards
  • National Environmental Standards
  • National, Regional and Local Laws
  • ISO 14000 Environmental Standards

Our Comprehensive expertise in air, land and water combined with GIS, Remote sensing Project management and implementation services allows us to successfully handle any environmental challenge from consulting to completion

Energy and Climate Change

Sustainable energy supply and climate change are arguably the largest problems facing the world – now and into the future. Energy underpins virtually all economic activity, and ensuring its reliable and cost-effective supply is of central importance to individual, organisations and governments alike. We at INTEGEMS take a holistic look at the triple-bottom line, providing the information and guidance ordinary people and organisations need to balance and address the environmental, economic, social and regulatory facets and impacts of the energy and climate change challenge. Like the climate change challenge itself, our suite of energy and climate change services is constantly evolving to meet the needs of those looking to adapt to a low-carbon economy and become sustainable.

Our Energy and Climate Change services include:

  • Energy and Climate Change Assessments
  • Greenhouse Gas Assessments and Emissions Inventory Development
  • Support to Climate Change and Energy Strategies, Policies, Programmes and Projects

Environmental Management Systems

We can help you manage those activities that have or can have an impact on the environment, which are constantly in a state of flux as environmental legislation and standards evolve alongside our growing understanding of the environment and its related processes and disciplines. To stay abreast of this scientific, technological and legislative evolution we continually develop and review our services and approach, ensuring that our clients are best advised of current and future demands.

Our approach to environmental management is systematic and sustainable and is based on documented procedures which identify, quantify and manage significant environmental issues for:

  • Managing environmental issue
  • Improving environmental performance
  • Reducing environmental risk and impact as measured by some objective criteria

As with all management functions, effective environmental management systems, tools and standards are required. Our core skills and experience are in the following:

  • Strategic Environment Assessment (SEA) - a system of incorporating environmental considerations into policies, plans, and programmes
  • Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) - an assessment of the possible positive or negative impact that a proposed project may have on the environment, together consisting of the natural, social and economic aspects
  • Social Impact Assessment (SIA) - a methodology to review the social effects of infrastructure projects and other development interventions
  • Integrated Environment Assessment (IEA) - integrates social, economic and environmental issues to show the cause-effect linkages of human and natural action on the environment, and in turn, the resultant environmental change in the state of the environment and human well-being

Environmental Monitoring

INTEGEMS provides independent expert advice and assessments covering all ambient air, noise and water quality issues for workplace noise assessments, factory indoor air quality and other environmental studies. Achieving our client's objectives depends, in part, on collecting data that are reliable; of known quality; easily accessible to a variety of users; and aggregated in a manner consistent with its primary use. In order to accomplish this we employs digital data acquisition and communication systems to meet our clients need for. We rely on digital communication from our data acquisition systems to collect a wider variety of information from the analyzers/samplers, to control instrument calibrations, and to allow for more routine, automated, and thorough data quality efforts.
